Yes, no doubt about it. By following the detailed instructions in our measurement guide and using a fabric tape measure, you can consistently obtain accurate measurements. In addition, we ask you optional bits of information which allow us to cross-check your submitted measurements. If a red flag pops up, we will contact you.

No, we encourage our clients to have a friend or clothing professional measure them and even offer to refund you the cost up to $25 in the form of an in-store credit. Having assistance in gathering your measurements can make the process that much faster.

But let’s say you do make a mistake, perhaps you enter your waist as being 32 inches when it is really a 42 inches. When we review your information we will immediately see a red flag. At our Trunk Shows clients have the opportunity to browse fabrics and discuss style requirements including relating to the cut, fit and finishing touches, and are able to incorporate any personal preferences. Over 30 body measurements and posture images are recorded to ensure an extraordinary level of fit. All garments are handmade in-house by Master Tailors in our workshop in Hong Kong and are shipped directly to you. Clients unique hand cut paper patterns are stored on file making re-ordering quick and simple usually via phone, WhatsApp or email.

How to Measure

Complete Measurement Guide for a tailored suit

If you want to order a suit by email then you can fill the following measurement chart and we will see to it that you get the custom-made suit. Do not worry you can measure yourself within five minutes.

Things you need

A piece of paper and a pen.

Measuring tape.

A good fitting garment, i.e. a shirt and a pant. Refrain from wearing jeans as they do not offer the best size measurements.

Precautions to be followed while measuring yourself.

When measuring yourself, make sure that the tape is always held flat against the body. Curled up tapes do not provide the precise measurements. It should be held tightly that it does not droop and at the same time it should not be too tight that it restricts your normal movement.

All measurements should be taken to the nearest quarter (.25) inch.

Do not add or subtract any measurements. We will adjust the fit based on your selected preferences and the built of your body. We will give the allowances in the measurements accordingly.

Detailed Procedure to measure each part

Neck

Place the measuring tape around the base of your neck with one finger space between the tape and your neck.

CHEST

Place the measuring tape around largest part of your chest, as high as possible under the arms with two fingers space. Tape should be held straight but it should neither be too loose nor too tight.

STOMACH

Place measuring tape around the stomach with two fingers space. Measure the stomach over the part that has the longest circumference. Again the tape should not be held tightly.

HALF SLEEVE

Measure the length from the shoulder to the point where you want the cuff to hit.

FULL SLEEVE

Place measuring tape from the point where the shoulder seam joins the sleeve and guide the tape down along the arm to the point below the wrist. Do not forget to add 1.5 cm to your final measurement.

SHOULDER

Place the measuring tape from the point where the shoulder seam joins the sleeve of one hand to shoulder seam joining the sleeve of the other hand. Use that as the primary measurement and do not forget to add an allowance of 2-4 cm according to your normal standing posture and body build.

FRONT LENGTH

Place the measuring tape from the point where the shoulder seam joins the collar vertically and measure the length up to the point that you want it to be.

BICEPS

Place the measuring tape around the fullest part of the upper biceps with two fingers space in between the tape and your skin. Place the tape and your fingers parallel to the level of the biceps. Do not try to measure vertically as it can give wrong measurements.

OUT & INSEAM

Place the measuring tape on the top of the right waistband and measure the length to the floor. Finally reduce as much as 1-1.5 cm to get the final measurement.

WAIST

Place the measuring tape around your waistband while maintaining a slack of two fingers space. Do not leave the tape to droop or make it too tight. It should be free enough to rotate and tight enough that it does not fall down the position.

HIP

Place the measuring tape around your hips at the hipbone area. Measure the size of it while maintaining the space for two fingers. Tape should be parallel to your body. Do not curl or rotate the tape.

U-RISE

Place the measuring tape from the center of front rise, across the crotch and then measure the length up to the center of the back waistband. Make sure that you take the correct measurement, as it is a delicate area.

Visiting the Store

When you come to Bobby’s Fashions, we assign a member of our staff especially for you to guide you in our store. Our clothiers have extensive experience in customer service and in the process of bespoke tailoring, and they will be able to answer any doubts and questions that you may have.

Choosing the Fabric

We have one of the largest fabric storehouses in Hong Kong, and you can choose the fabrics that are to your liking from our huge library. We have the best fabrics imported from United Kingdom, Italy and France. You will be spoilt for choice but do not worry; our staff is there to help you choose.

Design Process

After choosing the kind of fabric, you are all ready to design your bespoke garment. We will guide you through a number of fits and styles to give you an idea of the design process. You can choose individual elements of the design including the stitches, button sizes, pockets, positioning, lining clothes etc., as per your wish.

Measuring your size

The best part of wearing a bespoke tailored suit is to have it designed and made to fit your exact size and style. Our expert team will measure the sizes of every part of the garment. These steps ensure that the final product fits you perfectly.

Sending to Workshop
